  • Art twice weekly, covering a range of techniques, styles, and perspectives.

Science

  • Materials and their properties.

Music

  • Helping everyone find their inner musician – listening and appraising music.
  • Learning a rap.

Computing

  • Covering the basics, such as using a mouse, logging onto a computer.
  • Using the Purple Mash digital skills learning programme to develop coding techniques.

Maths

  • Place value within 10/20.
  • Addition and subtraction within 10.
  • Geometry – learning the names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes.

Physical Education

Feb 2023 update: Year One

Year one have been exploring and learning about seasonal changes. They went on a walk in our orchard to look for signs of winter.  In science, the children enjoyed exploring different materials and identifying what everyday objects are made from. They carried out an experiment

December update: nursery

It has been another fun packed few weeks in Reception. Our PSED has included visits from our Persona Doll, Nada. She has taught us about her family in Zanzibar and the different foods and traditions. Nada brought a selection of breads which we allthoroughly enjoyed
