Winter term update: year 6

Year 6 pupils

Year 6 have had a fantastic half term. We have immersed ourselves into World War Two again, having a trip to Newhaven Fort and participating in our very own VE day.

At Newhaven Fort, we learnt all about life for civilians during WW2 and all about how the fort was used during the Dieppe raids and D-Day. On VE day, we learnt about how the war ended and how people would have celebrated. We tried food that would have been available at the time and created our very own street party.

In the rest of the curriculum, we having been working hard writing stories about a character with a flaw in their personality, using Macbeth as a model. In maths, we have been working hard on our knowledge of fractions. The children have worked extremely
hard this half term and are looking forward to their well-earned break.

A big special mention to Mia in 6AC for her fantastic effort at dressing up for the Christmas show! Christmas tree hair!
