PTA news – October 2022

Firstly, I would like to apologise for any lull in communication of late. The start of a new term/school year, has brought with it many personal changes in circumstance with a number of our key PTA members. Sadly we will not be running our fireworks night. However, rest assured there are some fun events on the horizon for all to get involved in.

Now more than ever, we need the support and volunteers to keep these events running.

Haunted house trail
This October half term sees the return of our famous Haunted house trail. Thank you to all those families who are taking part and decorating their gardens/windows to make this trail possible. We have 17 haunted locations dotted around the area, so get your map ready and find those hidden letters. As you complete the trail you will find some letter are red and others are green. This indicates two separate words. Red letters is first word of conundrum, green letters is the second word. When you’ve worked out the phrase email your answers to cardenpta@outlook.com to be entered into the prize draw.

Christmas fete
Yes! Christmas is just around the corner and anyone that knows me will know that I LOVE CHRISTMAS. We are gearing ourselves up for a real festive treat, for carden families to share with friends, family and the wider community. We have set the date Saturday 3rd December from 11am – 2pm. There will be games (curtesy of our wonderful kids and teachers), refreshments, face painting, Christmas colour hamper raffle and yes, hold onto your hats SANTA is making a guest appearance! Santa’s grotto will be at Carden for fete day. More details on how to book your slot will follow after half term. If you would like to help in any way with the Christmas fete, please do join our Christmas WhatsApp group (link will be sent via Studybugs) Christmas is always a really special time at Carden, and to offer any time would mean absolutely everything.

New mural!

With thanks to SprayCats and Hawkinson, we now have an incredible new mural covering the walls of our outdoor learning area.

A huge thanks also goes to every teacher, staff member, parent or carer, who came along ot a DIY day. You helped to transform this area, and the feedback from the pupils and staff who use has been fantastic.
