Feb 2023: end of term update

What a start to the New Year! Although it does seem like Christmas and New Year was a long time ago – it has in fact only been six weeks! The staff and children have packed so many things into this half term. You can see a great selection of them in this newsletter.
Return of the forum! It has been brought to my attention that there used to be a half termly parents forum with the Head and a selection of parents from across the school. I will be reinstating them and the first one will be on 9th March 9.15am. If you will be attending please studybugs the office.
We return to school on Monday 20th February as normal. We will then be over half way through this academic year. The days will be getting longer and lighter and the weather (should) be improving. As always it is vital that children attend school as much as possible. Well done to those children still on 100% for the year. Of course illness is illness but that is why we do not contact parents until attendance falls below 90% to allow for this. We are currently in the process of trying to work with all our families to support children’s access to their education.
The Year Six Carden Ambassadors will soon be working across the school to support and inspire the younger children. The children for Spring 2 are: Nevaeh, Rosie, Clara, Mya and Mia.
This term the school councillors have been working tirelessly to tidy and organise the library. They have done a great job.

The Carden PTA has got some exciting Easter events happening in the next half term. The DIY day is on Saturday 18th March and look out for more information on a Bake Off and an Easter Egg Hunt.
As always, thank you for all your support towards the school and the community. I hope you have an enjoyable week off from school.
Best Wishes
Laura Sibley
