After-school & breakfast clubs

After-school activities at Carden are delivered by the brilliant PLAY. PLAY at Carden was recently inspected by OfSTED, and the report highlighted that pupils “enjoy their time in this friendly club. They are happy and well cared for by the attentive staff”. It also noted the positive relationships between staff and pupils, and said pupils “learn good social skills and make new friendships”.

Carden offers a well-rounded and inclusive childcare experience. Everyday you will find structured activities catered for all children to enjoy. We have specialist sports activities as well as creative activities everyday.

For those children that would rather lead their own play, we will also have a range of indoor and outdoor activities such as games, small world, construction, book nooks and sensory play.

After-school clubs schedule

Monday

Board Games Club – This is a chance to put your best strategies to the test! Board games offer children at chance to get thinking creatively, strategically and often times competitively!

Dance Club – The new dance classes are inspired by various dance styles and each class is tailored to suit the ages and abilities of the group with exciting activities, choreography, and dance routines each week. The Dance club is open to all children of all ages and abilities. We are committed to offering fun, well-balanced and creative dance classes as part of the PLAY after-school provision.

Tuesday

Cooking / Baking Club – Not only is cooking an essential life skill, it is also great fun for all ages! We try and keep the recipes we use as healthy as possible while making sure the food is also delicious and fun to make. We work in a nut free school and we try our best to cater to all major allergies so please let us know in advance of any allergies your children may have.

Wednesday

Art, Craft and Design Club – We know children like to get creative and messy! The arts and crafts club includes everything from craft design to painting to jewellery to paper craft and we try to make it as varied as possible. Often throughout the year we will contribute and make displays for the schools big events such as remembrance day, Easter and of course sports day. This club has something for every child to unleash their creative side.

Thursday

Jewelry Club – Another great way for children to get creative is our Jewelry club. This club incorporates everything from the design, making and most importantly the wearing of the jewelry!

Friday

Lego Club – Each week will have a different theme with children being able to create, discover and explore the world of Lego. This is a great activity to get children thinking, creating and learning for themselves through play. It’s also a great for children to be social and have a great time as well!

Gymnastics – Gymnastics is a sport that contains all the essential elements of physical literacy and is an excellent asset in a child’s physical development. It is also highly popular with boys and girls of all ages. We cover a whole range of gymnastics aspects from individual skills to group performances. We always try and use as much equipment and apparatus as possible to keep the sessions fun, exciting and different each week.
