Welcome to Carden Primary PTA

 What is the PTA?

PTA stands for Parent and Teacher Association

The PTA is an organisation of parents and staff, its role is to encourage closer links between home and school. PTAs are best known for their fundraising work, but they have a useful social function too. Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together.

The Carden Primary School PTA motto is connecting Carden's community, and it seeks to be inclusive of all, developing the wellbeing of the school and its members.

How is the PTA organised?

All parents/carers are automatically members of the PTA. We hold our Annual General Meeting in September, at the start of the school year. At this meeting a committee is elected to run the PTA – usually consisting of a chair, a vice- chair, a treasurer, a secretary and other roles such as class representatives. Everyone is welcome to the AGM.

The PTA committee usually meets once a term and arranges smaller working groups to organise individual events.

How is money raised?

Money is raised through events. We hold one main event each school term – for example, a Christmas Fete or quiz night. Other PTA events include school uniform sales, discos, pamper evenings and many more. We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and trying new events. Other easy ways to raised money for the school include Match Funding and Easy Fundraising.

What is Match Funding?

Match Funding is an arrangement between a company and their employee. Not all companies offer match funding, but those that do will pledge a sum of money relating to the amount that their employee has raised for charity. This could be as simple as asking your employer if they have such a scheme – many big companies do.

What is Easy Fundraising?

Easy Fundraising is (as its name suggests) an easy way to raise money for the school when you shop online. We've designed rocks for events such as Easter, Christmas, Carden's 70th Birthday, Eid, Welcoming new school starters and Halloween.
