Activity Passports
As part of ensuring our curriculum is full of interesting and enriching activities for our children, we've introduced to each year group an Activity Passport which consists of 20 activities that will take place over the year. Most of these activities will take place as part of the learning in school however six of the activities are to be completed at home (one each half term) and are themed on the five senses and Our World.
We encourage the children to be as imaginative and creative as they can in presenting their Activity Passport homework challenge. They can choose how to present their work in anyway they wish e.g. poem, painting, collage, model, photos, make a song, create a dance, write a review, cartoon strip, write a story etc When completed, it is brought into school and celebrated in the classrooms, in assemblies and on a centrally located display.
We were all really amazed and impressed by the huge variety of imaginative pieces of work that were produced from our very first Activity Passport home learning task last half term. Each class has an area where you can see the different examples of children's work. Some of them have been used to create a whole school display down the stairs by the library so next time you are in school, make sure you take a look. We had videos, sound recordings, collages, drawings, painting, poems, modelling and much more. Well done everyone!
Each child now has their own passport in their classroom where activities are being stamped when completed.
Task 2
The second task is now upon us and the whole school theme for this is taste where each child should attempt to complete their year group challenge. Encourage the children to be as imaginative and creative as they can in presenting their Activity Passport challenge. They can choose how they record what they taste in anyway they wish e.g. poem, painting, collage, model, photos, make a song, create a dance, write a review, cartoon strip, write a story etc and bring it into school for the classroom display by Friday 13th December.
