Enterprise Week took place between 10th -14th July 2017. Each class from Reception to Year 6 became a company for the week with the ultimate aim of making the largest profit during the Enterprise Fair on Friday 14th July. The classes were given a budget, researched and chose a product then assigned themselves roles and a company name. Additionally, each class sent representatives to pitch to a team of 'Dragons' why they should be given an additional £5 golden handshake. The standard was very high.
The Enterprise Fair took place on the afternoon of Friday 14th July. Many products sold out very quickly and the total profit throughout the school added up to in excess of £700. The children and parents reported that they had thoroughly enjoyed the week and had learnt about business and enterprise through real life experiences.
Additionally, Caroline Lucas MP visited the school on Friday 14th July. She was really impressed with the variety of products and with the professional approach the children were taking to their companies and sales. She was persuaded to buy a Minion stress toy from the children in the KS1 Speech and Language Centre and promised them that she would take it on a visit to Parliament.
